La Hogue Farm Shop & Cafe

I visited for the first time last Sunday and my daughter and we’re not disappointed, the fruit and veg were fantastic and we stopped for lunch, very tasty and reasonable price, we will be back thank you.

I visited La Hogue during the coronavirus lockdown. Cafe was set up with a one way system, social distancing measures and hand gel. I thought the set-up was good. No inside seating was available but there were plenty of grassy areas and some picnic tables.
The standard of the food and particularly the cake was as good as I remembered it. My blueberry cheesecake was fantastic. The prices were very reasonable. I’m sure I’ll be heading back soon.

The best food I ate so far in Suffolk/ Norfolk. The portions are good and the food is so fresh and tasty. I ended up ordering more after my meal just to taste other things. It was so so good. Plenty of seating with two dining rooms. Set on a farm with its own parking. A little off on its own but if you can find it, you won’t be disappointed.

Five star butcher! the resturant has a very good quality food. It just need to allocate adult only section (which seems the extension part sometimes is) to encourage – some people like us – more frequent visit to the resturant.

The food was lovely lot’s on the plate could’nt eat it all my belly was full. Had a pot of tea went with my friend which was even better.
Took my daughter and there was highchairs too. All in all i would defo recommend.

Great place to stop at whilst on the A11 – Friendly Staff and very good quality food. Can’t recommend the Breakfasts enough – Top job Guys!

I usually visit with my friend but I thought I’d take my husband one day and now he asks to come here every week for their English breakfast,
He has said that it’s the best one he has ever had! … the cakes are so lovely too. Definitely worth the trip!!

Wow. We (my mother and I) needed somewhere for a cup of tea and spotted this on the map. So pleased we dropped in! Great car park, loads of room, clean and tidy with welcoming entrance. We were met with a beautiful display of vegetables, followed by wonderful displays of treats and gifts. The cafe was easily found and we made a beeline. Despite being late lunchtime there were a few tables free and we sat in the warm to look at the menu. The food looked great so we ordered lunch too. The lady on the counter in the cafe was lovely! Really friendly, chatty, knowledgeable and funny. I took a pristine tray of piping hot tea and pristine crockery across the pristine floor to our pristine table. It was very good tea. I popped to the immaculate toilets. The clever decor throughout the cafe and toilets matched and sparked curiosity. We watched busy staff bring amazing plates of food from the kitchen and empty plates returning. Everyone smiled. A lovely, happy young lady brought our meals. We both ate the most melt in the mouth gammon steaks, crisp chips and tender peas. It waa so good! The smiley young lady was attentive and friendly. Everything was so clean. Our only slight niggle was that we sat near to the kitchen and there was quite a lot of noise – but we didn’t mind too much (it was quieter than the fellow diner’s child that had a tantrum!) I really wanted to try one of the amazing looking cakes on display – but they were enormous, enough for 2 to share and we had no room – I will have to come back to try a cake. We excited into the shop, grabbed a basket and stated to browse the wonderful choice of wares. We asked at the spotless butchers counter if they sold the same gammon as cooked in the cafe – yes!! They also offer black bacon so I stocked up my freezer, much to the delight of the jovial butcher. We went to pay and the wonderful young lady on the counter was friendly and most helpful. I’d picked up a birthday card for my mother and was trying to keep it hidden. With only a few slight gestures, the young lady understood and secreted it, upside down into a paper bag. She treated our items with care and helped us pack without hurrying us. We dropped off our shopping to the car and decided to visit the Christmas barn. We are both used to farms and they can be untidy – not this place! Spotless! On the way to the barn we noticed the industrial rubbish bins… That were totally pristine and spotless! Neither of us have ever seen anything so amazing (and my mother used to work in environmental health!) Nothing was out of place, not a single bit of rubbish, litter, drip, splash, nothing. You could eat off the ground below those bins! We entered the barn, a welcoming, cosy place full of the glitz and chintz of Christmas decorations. We had a quick look but noticed they were trying to close up so didn’t stop long. We chatted with the charming lady on the way out to compliment the barn and commiserate the difficulties of working all day on your feet but that at least it wasn’t too cold in there. Back through the immaculate farmyard back to our car, it was quite sad to have to leave. But we’ll be back! Thank you to everyone there for making such a lovely, friendly, clean, welcoming and cosy place. Lots of lovely products, great food and facilities. I want to give you 50 stars!

Good selection of fresh vegetables, meat and local produce. Cafe has a nice selection of food, plus Sunday Lunch on a Sunday. Very busy when we visited, so had to wait for a table. Reservations seem possible. Good was excellent, both tasty and obviously fresh.

Well what can I say.Been to a lot of farm shops and la hogue is far the best, lovely place for family’s the children can play in the park wich is enclosed While you can Relax.The farm shop has a huge Variety of gifts and a butchery with beef from the local Euston estate Red poll which is absolutely lovely ! Now for the best bit the Restaurant the food is fresh and you get a good size plate fulland a Variety of hand made deserts and each portion can easy feed two ! Honestly they are to die for. I have now made this my local farm shop even though I am nearly 30 miles away it’s worth it. Highly recommended check this place out.

it is a lovely farm shop and the food at the cafe is very good, made with local grown ingredients including the meat. the staff is lovely and very professional. you can see they enjoy working there.

Found this place local to where I was staying on holiday, really good value for money and amazing flavours. Very friendly for animals and kids.

came in for a late breakfast and wasn’t disappointed! best breakfast I’ve had in years, if not ever. and my son thoroughly enjoyed his kids breakfast. absolutely superb. and the shop and butchers are top drawer. definitely visiting again. ??♥️

I took my wife for lunch today (we rarely are able to do this!) and must say that we had an amazing lunch. The food was great, their coffee was delicious and I’m so glad that I took my wife to La Houge.
