Hello and a warm welcome to Chair Lady, where we offer both tailored removable covers and classic and contemporary bespoke chairs.

Do you have a sofa that’s really comfy but doesn’t fit in with your decor or perhaps you’re lucky enough to own a Multiyork – we make professionally tailored, removable covers for your sofa where you can change the look of your sofa any time you like and even pop them in the washing machine!

Choosing the fabric for your new covers can be daunting but it’s best to take your time and send off for samples directly from the suppliers so you can see how they might work in your home.

Many armchairs ‘revived’ have been nearly 100 years old. Lots of customers tell me how their chairs were once their Grandmother’s and how, they couldn’t bear to part with the chair for sentiments’ sake but needed it to fit in with their current décor and/or to make a statement piece so as to do the heirloom justice. Often, old armchairs need a ‘new bottom’. This might entail new webbing or just a new seat box cushion (often the foam should be replaced, in the very least, due to modern fire regulations). Sometimes, if the chair is hair filled, the hair needs to be replaced due to being dust-filled. Not a problem. These days, traditional upholstery can use hypo-allergenic fibre and hair which provides the same method and texture without the allergy risk.

You might recognise the chair you own as being a Parker Knoll, an iconic wingback style and a make that I’m extremely practised in revamping.

Turn your ripped, cold, brown faux leather dining chair into a voluptuous, bespoke and bright comfy chair. You can choose from many different finishes for your chairs including close nail studs, pleats or piping. Some clients choose an array of different colours; some have two of each colour, others a back panel different to the main inside chair – so many options.

If your chair needs repair or extra padding, I can sort this too; why throw away your furniture when I can help you to repair and upgrade.

Don’t you just love old furniture – it has more character and built to last. I specialise in traditional upholstery and often, when I rip-down a chair, it’s the original upholstery that has held a chair together. Once reupholstered there’s no reason why your antique piece of furniture shouldn’t last another 100+ years. It is my aim to reupholster as sympathetically as possible and I find it an honour to work on pieces built by Master craftsman.
