Hello and welcome to Bauhinia Yoga, founded and hosted by Emma Linnitt.

ABOUT…….it all started in Hong Kong from my own home, a space built from my love of YOGA, people came, rolled out a mat and tried.
It didn’t matter whether they were budding gurus or if they were new to it, everyone was welcome.

COVID – LIFE CHANGED……the name fitted what it was at the time but when I moved back to the UK summer 2020 I knew it no longer represented what I am, as I no longer teach from my own space. Live classes are now set in a beautiful space, in a 120 acres of beautiful rural Suffolk.

The Bauhinia flower not only reflects the natural beauty of the place I will be teaching but also gives a nod to where I have come from and where my business originally started. The flower of the Bauhinia blakeana orchid tree, named after a former governor of Hong Kong, was chosen as the colony’s emblem more than 50 years ago.

MY PHILOSOPHY……very simple and still is the goal; to create an environment for you to practice yoga at your own pace and enjoy it. The difference is now you have the option to practice in your own home with my voice guiding you (plus I’m there doing the session with you, so I’m there on the screen in case you need it!), as well as live classes. As long as you know where your head, your bum and your feet are, plus you know your left from right you should be able to follow.

WHAT IS THE STRUCTURE…..it is still the same, every class is different, there is something for everyone. Sometimes more challenging, pushing you out of your comfort zone, then sometimes just a little more zen.

Yoga is all about balance so whether you are an experienced practitioner or a yoga virgin there is something for you.

WHAT ABOUT PRIVATE LESSONS……also available (via Zoom/in person) in the comfort of your own home, designed especially for you, focusing on particular areas or issues you might have.

WHEN ARE YOU LIVE……currently classes are ran live at Kingfishers Monday, Wednesday and Friday, Zoom Tuesday and Thursday.

Been Joining Emma’s online class from my (3 week) quarantine room in Singapore! It’s given me something to look forward to during the week and then over the weekend I’ve been able to practice using the recording she shared. Easy to follow Emma’s instruction and I really think only a very experienced teacher can successfully teach over Zoom, Emma achieves this seamlessly. I will continue to join Emma’s practice when I return to normality… with my ever increasing schedule the benefit of being able to join a great online class out weigh the hassle of trekking to a class. If you’re in doubt give it a go I’m sure you will convert too. Thank you Emma for keeping me going!! Namaste 🙏

I’ve now completed my 3rd week of yoga with Emma and I’m really feeling the benefits. It’s really helped me to wind down and sleep well.
Emma guides you through each step so no need to worry if you’ve not done it before ☺️

Just enjoyed my second zoom yoga session, Emma describes the postures so well and makes it so easy to follow. Just what’s needed after along day working from home.

Emma is committed, knowledge and considerate to your yoga needs. Her classes are easy to follow and I definitely feel taller, lighter and more flexible at the end of the session. Highly recommended.

Working with Emma has enabled me to manage the pain and give me as much flexibility as possible before my hip replacement. Emma’s work, understanding of the body, ability to listen is second to none. I would always, highly recommend Emma and The Yoga House. X

The Yoga House has been an absolute sanctuary to me over these past testing months, started yoga at the beginning of lockdown and haven’t stopped yet! Emma is very clear, yet concise in her explanations of poses, so easy to follow without necessarily watching.

I always struggled to take yoga seriously since I wanted something to give me a fair amount of exercise / flexibility, still including relaxation and breathing techniques, without the intense spirituality that comes with a lot of yoga instructors. Emma meets that balance so very well.

By far one of the best Yoga teachers I’ve come across!

Thank you Yoga House for delivering live online sessions. I was finding it increasingly difficult to attend classes with all the home-learning to get through/childcare issues/worry about The Virus etc.

I know this isn’t the way you’d prefer to teach Emma but it works. And for someone like me (who has the self discipline of Pooh Bear around honey) live sessions that I’ve booked onto are definitely the only way I’ll actually get my mat out at home!
